Your Program, the Small Business

Jun 20

“Profit is like oxygen, food, water, and blood for the body; they

are not the point of life, but without them, there is no life.”

from Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies

I talk a lot about the fact that sports programs are no different than a small business. The point of a successful small business is not profit but a vision, a mission. The same with a successful sports program. As the quote above states, without money there is no success. Do you fund your success through trading money for a product (cookies, coupon books, etc)? Or by selling your vision and your mission? Most of us are much more willing to buy your vision and your mission than a product out of a fundraising catalog.
